Eminent physicist Victor Presnov: 100th anniversary of the birth

The Scientific Library of Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University prepared a virtual exposition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous physicist, Doctor of Physical and Medical Sciences, Ukrainian SSR State Prize winner, professor Victor Presnov. Since 1968 his activity was associated with the Odessa University, where he was working in the Department of Experimental Physics and later created the Department of Physical Electronics and became the head of it. The exposition presents literature, photographs, which show the main milestones of scientist’s life path and his scientific heritage.

Life dedicated to science: 100th anniversary of Abba Glauberman’s birth

A scientific conference “Topical issues on physics of solid body” was held on the 100th anniversary of Abba Glauberman’s birth in Physics Research Institute of Odessa I. I. Mechnikov National University. Book exposition was also prepared. It was based on the funds of the Scientific library and presented materials that reflect main milestones of life and science path of the brilliant scientist.

Ukrainian Holodomor of 1932-1933

According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine from the 18th of August 2017 “On approval of the action plan for 2017-2018 in relation with the 85th anniversary of the Ukrainian Holodomor of 1932-1933” was made a video presentation, which includes the chronology of the Holodomor of 1932-1933, legislative documents, books from the holdings of Scientific Library, memoirs of eyewitnesses and the perception of the Ukrainian genocide in the world.
