Vitalii Matviiovych Shyshkovskyi (1822-?). Nobleman by origin. Upon termination of a course in Richelieu Lyceum acquired the right for a rank of the 12th class. On January 21, 1848 was appointed to the Office of the Odessa school district trustee-manager assistant with the rank of provincial secretary. On July 17, 1850, he is confirmed to the post of the librarian of Richelieu Lyceum. With transformation of Richelieu Lyceum to Novorossiysk Imperial University moved to the University on May 1, 1865. During 1865-1866, he was a member of the commission, which resolved project issues, placement and estimates of educational and auxiliary institutions in university buildings. He took an active part in the organization of work on the new system, the library, which was adopted December 2, 1868. On July 17, 1890, he was exempted from service for health reasons. For more than 30 years of honorable service, he was granted a pension for librarian at the Imperial Russian state universities. Also acquired the right in resignation to carry uniformed semi-captan. He was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir 4 degrees 35 years of service in class rank, St. Anne’s 2 degrees, St. Stanislaus 2 degrees with the imperial crown and a bronze medal in memory of the war 1853-56 at St. Andrew’s tape.
