International Open Access Week
Open Access (OA) is a free, fast, permanent, full-text access in real time mode to scientific and educational materials that is realized for any user in the global information network.
The celebration of the International Open Access Week was initiated by Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), supported by its followers in the student community. Open Access Week is intended to attract the attention of the scientific community to the potential benefits of open access. This year International Open Access Week was celebrated from 23 to 29 of October and it was chosen the slogan «Open in order to…».
As a part of the Open Access Week 2017 the following events were carried out:
- Flash mob “Open lock” (involving the students of Chemistry faculty)
Workshop for library specialists «Open Access – Open Opportunity» was called to identify opportunities that provide open access for the scientific community and libraries.
- Training for scientists of faculties and institutes of ONU, where next issues will be discussed: electronic archive-repository and self-archiving.
To support Open Access movement, we offer the creating an author’s profile and self-archiving your work in the following systems:
Library staff is ready to answer your questions; to provide consultation about the placement of scientific publications in the institutional repository of ONU, as well as in other systems of self-archiving; help in selecting a scientific journal for the publishing of article; provide information about the execution of publication and references; to acquaint with the electronic information resources of the library, etc.
Consultations can be obtained directly in the library or online.
