Starytska Liudmyla Mykhailivna
She was born in 1939. She studied at the Leningrad library institute of N. K. Krupska (1959-1964). She worked in Saransk Mordovian ASSR in the system of the Ministry of Culture: in charge of the reading room of city children’s library. Maxim Gorky (1963-1964) and bibliographer Mordovian ASSR Republican Children’s Library (1964-1966). In 1966, she began work in Scientific library of the Odessa I. I. Mechnikov State University. She held positions the manager of sector of the reading room (1970) managing department of completing (1980), the deputy director for scientific work (1988). Being at the director’s position, put into completing of library a lot of effort during the difficult period when replenishment of library stocks in the country significantly decreased owing to reduction of financing of libraries, inflation, a rupture of information space, increase in prices for all types of printed materials. The library searched for sources of replenishment of funds: book-exchange, sponsor’s and charitable contributions, gifts of the organizations, individuals, in particular professors of university. From 1998 to 2013 Liudmyla Mykhailivna headed department of completing of Scientific library.
